At 6:05 AM this morning, Iraq time, the world became a better place. Saddam Hussein was executed.
While Human Rights Watch and others decried the execution, it is my opinion he got what he deserved given the brutality he inflicted on many innocent victims over his lifetime.
There are times when killing and/or war are justified. This was one of them.
Good riddance to a brutal, evil person.

You mistake "conservative" (me) for social conservative (not me). I just want less government, more personal freedom, and the ability to manage my own hard-earned money the way I see fit, without being forced to give it to interventionist do-gooders and tax-funded pacifist outfits like the CBC.
Death penalty is right up my alley (CONSERVATIVE). If I had my way, it would be back in Canada tomorrow for heinous crimes like pre-meditated murder, mass murder, torture, gassing your opponents, etc., stuff that is obviously quite acceptable (out in 15 years for good behaviour) in the eyes of "anything goes" liberals such as you appear to be. My conservative views are entirely consistent with my "Good Riddance" commentary on Saddam.
You'll have to look a lot harder for an inconsistency in this conservative's views (or on another blog), and quit confusing fiscal conservatism and libertarianism (me) with social conservatism (not me).
